If you're like me, you enjoy a good RPG to sink some time into, something that has a nice story or addictive gameplay. Good quality RPG's aren't easy to find on the app store though, the charts for this category are filled with the sorts of games that you buy coins for and build pointless things (I'm looking at you "Tap -insert business here- series!"). So I've compiled a short-list of my favourite Apple Store RPG's for you to download and try. These are all worth buying, and will give you hours of playtime. These aren't in any particular order as they're all rather different:
This is a fun little game, and possibly my most played app. The story starts with a dozen or so heroes being defeated by the big bad boss, and the world falling into the hands of a new generation of heroes. You control 4 heroes, and you can fully customise your party, changing classes and characters in-between battles. Each class has its own talent tree and function, and you can change it all to suit your playstyle. There are 1000's of pieces of loot too, and loot is rated using the classic Orange>Purple>Blue>Green MMO system. There's an in-game store too that stocks items for coins you collect in battle, so not everything is left to the RNG. It's very enjoyable and the difficulty is great, it really feels like an achievement when you beat every boss battle.

2. Lost Winds
Probably more of a platformer than an RPG, as there is no character development, however it does have a certain RPG element to it, possibly the story. Seriously, the story in this app is absolutely beautiful. I'm not going to post any spoilers here, you really need to play this one through yourself. You play as a child who finds a lost wind spirit, and must help him on his quest to find the other elemental spirits. Beautiful story, and easy fun gameplay. I've not had a chance to play the sequel yet but no doubt I'll find a few free hours on the bus soon.Price: £2.49

3. Infinity Blade
If you like graphics, this is the one for you! Infinity Blade looks absolutely gorgeous on the on the retina screen, and the sequel looks even better! The developers are generous too, with constant free updates and content. The gameplay itself isn't to my personal taste, but this game is so well critically acclaimed I couldn't help but include it. The structure is pretty unique and cool, you climb a caste trying to get to the boss at the top, defeating several enemies on the way. The combat is pretty fun but can get a little repetitive. It's definitely worth a play though, its very immersive and fun for the first few hours, and for the price you can't go wrong.

4. Illusia
With it's cutesy graphics and lighthearted story, this one feels a lot like a single player Maple Story. The gameplay and character progression are really fun, with lots of unique options. You can also choose what kind of class and character to play at the start. The enemies are fun, I mean who doesn't want to fight boxing kangaroos? There's lots to do, with multiple types of quests stretching over a full story arc. Silly and fun game, cheap too.

5. Final Fantasy
Absolute must have for any serious Final Fantasy fan! Originally released in 1997 in Japan, this was the start of the multi-billion Square Enix franchise that lives today. Remade and remastered for the iPhone, this features classic turn-based combat, a bunch of old-school classes to play (black mage anyone?!) and fun puzzles to solve. If you like the modern Final Fantasy's you will adore this. The only downside to this is the price, it's pretty extortionate but you get what you pay for.

6. Secret of Mana
Another wonderful remake for the iOS, Secret of Mana revolutionised the RPG genre with it's "ring command" system. It introduced real-time combat alongside RPG elements. It was one of the best games for the NES, receiving many awards and great reviews. There's not much I can say about this one, other than if you're going to download any classic RPG's for your iPhone, make it THIS ONE! Again, the price is a bit of a pain but definitely worth it, probably more so than Final Fantasy.

Well, there you go folks, my favourite iPhone RPG's. There are more out there and perhaps I'll make another post with some of my less preferred ones. What do you guys think of these games? Also please leave any recommendations in the comments
